Is there a different comparable update for 64 bit OS or is there a different problem? After installing this 64 bit OS update "windows update" ran successfully for the first time in over a week.
I must have spent 30 hours trying various fixes without success!
Being a retired EE digital signal processor, I know the complexities of code contributed by hundreds if not thousands of SW engineers to build and maintain an OS.
I'm curious what this magic update fixed for Kelly B56 and me.
Most users posting in that thread only see WU hang at "Checking for updates..." when it detects a large number of available updates so it's difficult to determine if any changes you've made to your system actually solve the problem until you run your next Patch Tuesday update. checking for updates was close to immediate and 20 updates were indicated ...
